Hi Roger from all of us in the UK.

Ian's quite right about the LGB starter set, it gets you out on the ground, it's reliable, it will bash into something else in years to come and if you don't like it it will have a resale value. The main point being, get outside, you can spend years planing in the armchair and suddenly you'll realise how much time has been wasted. Wealth of knowledge here 'cos we have all been there, ask at any time, someone will soon get back to you.
Cheers,
Kim

You can buy an LGB starter set on e bay, very cheaply get out on the ground and get something running around, you will know right away if you have an interest.

Then think long and hard about what you want to do and don't think too far ahead as you will probably change your mind.

I am in England at the moment on holidays will be back home on the Sunshine Coast by end of September, contact me by email and i will help you all i can.

In the meantime try to find a source of Crusher fines ot Quarry fines for ballast. Everything starts with ballast don't do thing without it.rgds Ian

Roger,

If you're looking for links, make sure to read the "Research links to useful sites" thread that's at the top of this forum. It has dozens of large-scale related places to visit.
