i was wondering with garden railways is there any precautions u have to take so that rain doesnt get on the track?????? i am thinking of doing a garden railway and i was just wondering

I have wonder the same, all I did in my case tho was ues an old mop head with a 6inch board screwd to the bottom and a rag wraped aournd it, after it rains I promptly wipe down the tracks. I also completely disconeck my power supply.

No, you don't have to worry. It can rain or even snow on your track and it will be safe. Lots of garden railroaders run trains in all kinds of weather. You do want to make sure that your power pack is safely protected from the weather, though. Most can't be stored outdoors permanently.

I ran all my wiring thru a piece of electric pvc thru the wall into the house. I use a control master 20 transformer which has a remote throttle that uses a phone jack which I ran outdoors thru the pvc.So the transformer is always indoors. I can't wait for snow so I can try the plow.

Don't worry about the rain or snow or...whatever. The track will be just fine. I remember after I completed my garden railroad we had a really bad storm here in Chicago. I went out the next morning, expecting to see all the buildings torn and everything trashed. Much to my grateful surprise, everything was just perfect; no damage at all. All I had to do was pick up some sticks that had fallen on the railroad and I was ready to go!

No. The only problem I have ever had was that the large droplets that rolled off the leaves caused a bit of balast to get on the track, but it's nothing that a paper towel or track cleaning car can fix. The track is extremely durable and I walk on it all the time. Can't go wrong outside in Large/G scale.
