GR also published 1/20 scale tugboat and a scow schooner plans in the past issues. They are Ted Stinson plansets and might still be available, the same source as the plansets in each issue.

A pier is nothing more than a timber trestle bridge that stops over water (with or without tracks!). Standard piling arrangement looks good. "Garden Railways" had a nice little article and plans for timber trestles about 5~6 issues back.

I am planning on building a pier for the rail. Just cant seem to find decent prebuilt or kits for scale. can anyone point me in a good direction?
