Hi all this will be my first post in the garden Coffee shop but i am a regular on the Model railroader Coffee shop. I am still planning the garden Railroad and working on the new HO layout. I am also leaving for a week to go to boy scout camp in Va.

Bye for now, Happy Railroading

Bah, Humbug; Coffee Shop, Coffee Slop..... Get real, set up a thread "the bull*** corner" and have done with it! At least many would then know to skip over it!

Hey,

This is the "Second Cup" since it was started after the "Okay, open Forum, off-topic, or whatever (grab a cup and sit)".

As Vic pointed out 3 on one corner (with the new one) means what's missing is a sandwich shop.

Make it a "Subway"!
Reasonably good grub, good selection and a "rail" theme! Better than "Mr. Submarine", ' cause before we know TOC would be moving in with his cigar, claim "inherit squatting rights" (pun intended) and there goes the intersection neighbourhood. [:D][8D][:D][}:)][}:)]

BTW with all these coffee shops; I hope the coffee is as fresh as Tim Horton's and tastes as good as the stuff at my favourite bakery. Taste test: drink it black! Good coffee needs no "additives"!

Coffee is sacred to me, vbsltco! [bow] I would rather drink my 50w non-detergent Lucas oil straight from the sump on my oil-in-frame than put one of those breakfast bites in my mouth!

Vic, I know, but the "she-woman men haters club" just doesn't have the same ring[;)], nor does it give proper deference to the Little Rascals, we are after all, a bunch of grown ups acting like little kids with our trains, just more expensively! No offence to LocoAnnie, who in truth is a WAY better modeler than I'll ever be. Let's see, she can be Darla, Cpt Bob can be Spanky, Vic can be Alphafa, Kimbrit can be Froggy (the french reference is just to annoy you Kim!), Benny can be .........................................

I think LocoAnnie might get a little PO'ed about that[:0][;)]

Any way, I got my caffine and my breakfast banana so I'm good to go...[:p]

Jack
Just think, if you hang around the parking lot long enough, you'll be changing your coffee and drinking your motor oil.

Well, since everyone is so concerened about the coffee shop, how about we keep it going this time huh? Hmmm...............That idea might be crazy enough to work! C'mon guys!

Call it what you will, the name is not important. Why not the "he-man woman haters club"? Makes no difference really. Just an informal topic to chit-chat about things in general.

7-11, great coffee, horrible industrial slime waste food. I feel my arteries clogging just thinking about the salt and pork fat dripping out of a "breakfast bite", not my idea of how to start the day.[xx(] Open 24-7 for all your overpriced needs, one on every street corner! Wish I thought of it...............$$$$!

Interesting! the Coffee Shopper starts it, then fades away. Pretty soon another pops up, goes at it a while, then drops out. seems to be never ending cycle! Since most other forums have a coffee shop why don't they just go to most other forums instead of trying to start one here?

No, I ain't PO'ed; just observing! I'm as full of the old BS as the next guy, and I'll go with the flow.

I just can't understand how some people can be so da--ed bright & cheerful that dern early in the morning ---- I'm still sucking on my first cuppa --- eyes only half open --- what little brain there is is not yet in gear!

I think that a coffee shop is a dreadful idea. However one of Tangerine Jack's motorcycle photos suggests an alternative. Did you notice the Seven Eleven in the background? We could have a Seven Eleven parking lot instead. Just imagine hanging out, changing your oil, putting a few drops from the bottle in your coffee and munching on those healthy breakfast dogs. Coffee shops are for the other forums where people put their goofy portrait photos on their posts.

Evening everyone! Well, didn't get all that much done on the railroad today, just trimmed some braches from a neighbors tree that was hanging over the railroad and dropping leaves on the tracks, other than that nothin' much went on here at all today! Oh well, thats life I guess.

P.S.- Encoarge other guys to come to the forum and the coffee shop!!!

I tried that, ttrig. But with 90% humidity the [censored] thing just stayed wet. Useless.
Straw hat is a good idea, though. Anything to keep the sun off...................[:)]

Ways to beat the heat and still play with the GRR!!!!!

1. Go to Wal~Mart sporting goods. they have this little "heat beater neck scarf" fill the sink with water throw the scarf in the water, these little beads soak up the water. Tie it around your neck and the beads will evaporate the water theyby cooling the neck.

2. Get a large straw hat. And WEAR it!

3. Get yourself a LARGE glass of "ice tea".

After a couple of "ice tea's", I don't mind the heat any more! By the way the temp has cooled down to 105 F here in San Diego, today.

Of course I've been working on the water fall today, so I've been standing in waist deep VERY COOL water.

Ok, time to go and put the contractor in his place, they are trying to pour concrete today, in between excuses that is. Life's good.[:-,]

Almost forgot, while at Anderson's the population of Rosebud Falls grew by three. A mother and daughter in their sunday best, and a hobo sitting by his camp fire.[:D]

On a more serious note. Every one is talking about how hot it is, and how it is interfering with their GRR operations. Since the dirt has not yet settled on my Rosebud Falls GRR (still toying around with variations on the name) the commissioner of land management (W.I.F.&E.) Took me out plant and tree shopping yesterday. When we got to Anderson's Nursery (Powway, San Diego County) I was abruptly told to let her look by herself and to go watch their trains. Even their water lilies were wilting from the heat. Didn't buy anything, but got a great look at some of the options. Of course she (who must be obeyed) vetoed my more whimsical selections. Oh well, the coffee has been good but it is time to go back to work on the waterfall. Have a nice day all. [swg]
