Weathering

Hi guys,
A couple of pics of a Bachmann tank car and a USA engineers car. Looks like the engineers have written their names on the side of the car.






Looks like there's a CAP C, VIC, KIM, TROY, T-JACK. They'll get a rocket from the Chief Engineer when he sees his work car.

I voted for eventualy. I shoot dull-coat on the new cars right away to kill any plastic shine, but more detailed weathering usualy waits until the "newness" wears off, maybe a year or two. I then shoot a little grimy black or dust on the trucks and a smigen of rust wash on the couplers and other metal areas like the wheels. That's about it, I let real nature take care of any fading or streaking.

acyrilic washes for me. I didn't vote because I don't fit in. i don't do it to all my cars but all plastic one get a coat.

This is a new country and I like my stuff to look new,it might not be realistic but pretty nice.

Having said that the weathring above does look good and that sepia work that Joe did a while back was inspirational.

So inspirationa in fact i think i can do a sepia fade on my movie camera and i may even look better than monotone, to do with these old fashioned trains.
