Hi,

Well, I've been called a lot worse than Karl-Heinz![;)][:D][:D] OTOH it is a stretch to get from Hans-Joerg to Karl-Heinz.[;)][;)]

HJ if you really want to see your name absolutely stuffed up, come to Australia, we are even better at those things than our North American cousins. A simple name like Hans goes round as Hands, in this isolated part of the world.

however we like being isolated.

Ian,

Make sure you get your own pics of #412 in CH.

On the name, wellllllllll when I visited Oz in 1991 I was addressed three ways: Mr. Mueller, Sir or mate.[;)][:o)][:D][:D]

The Aussies were, without fail, good humoured and very relaxed. Sometimes a bit too relaxed, especially in the NT outback.
But conversations with the non-natives i.e. anyone not from that state or territory, would fill one in on the peculiarities of people from Tas to Queensland. Which was proof that never mind which country, the tendencies, rivalries remain the same with variations. [;)][:)][:D]

Hi there Troy,

Wellllllll, I personally wouldn't vouch for that! But I admit the variations are closer than what I get in NA. [;)][:D][:D]
In Europe they run from Hans-Jürg through Hans-Jürgen to Hans-Georg with a smattering of Karl-Heinz (I'm not kidding!) and Hans-Peter thrown in for good measure. But it's not as bad as a boy named Sue.

Hi there Troy,

If you go to my profile http://www.trains.com/community/forum/member-profile.asp?id=170368 you'll find my full name etc.etc. etc.. HJ is the short form for Hans-Joerg, but HJ wouldn't work on this forum.

Of course "HJ" is also a concession to the English speakers who have a hard time pronouncing Hans-Joerg. As I've mentioned to someone the other day (after they "adapted" my name again): "Geeez, I've been here (in Canada) for 36 years and you guys still can't pronounce my name!"

PS There is no compulsion to register with the RhB Forum, not any more than here. [;)][;)] The signed up members are interested in the RhB and Swiss Trains; that's the way we like.

Hi Jack et al,

To follow some of the "hoopla" regarding the "Blue Krok" check out the RhB / Swiss Trains Forum http://www.rhb-grischun.ca/phpBB2/index.php or type rhb forum into Google. Forum has English and German version, content is not identical!

Thanks to the participation of several RhB employees, the information is always right up to date. But unlike some other fora , we try not to blow the "surprise" effect on the prototype, even when we have pictures and info about a week ahead of time. [;)][}:)][:)][:D]

Here's a bit of LGB product information for your entertainment and
enrichment.

The new LGB 27402 RhB "Crocodile" Loco was announced as
a "Surprise" paint scheme. LGB worked very closely with the real
Rhatische Bahn railway in Switzerland, and also with HO-Scale train
manufacturer Bemo, to have the RhB paint a Crocodile loco in blue, with
LGB and Bemo logos on it, in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the
famous Glacier Express train.

The locos (full-size, LGB-size and Bemo-size) were unveiled in a
ceremony over the weekend, with representatives from LGB, Bemo and the
RhB present. Here are some photos of the real locomotive:
