This is a common problem, short rance can be caused by local interference, receiving antenna length, and just a poorly performing set of electronics.
I'd encourage you to go to the Aristocraft forum, and read the posts on this, you will learn a lot.
Regards, Greg

The rubber ducky antenna is a severe limitation on range. You can roughly double the range by using an extensible antenna of the proper length. At last report Crest would send you one of these for free on receipt of an e-mail.

I only get aprrox 20 to 30 feet, farther than that and the remote doesn't work.
The engine just goes on it's own way, until it gets within range and I have control again. The engine has a 55491 installed. I rerouted the antenna outside the engine no help, also changed batteries. The 55003 has a rubber duckie antenna.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
