All scales... Trust me, I'm in 3. Before college I was an HO-only guy and now I've gained one per year. College is a time of experimentation, right? ;-)

When you "finish" a layout many people start again with a new one. Why? New ideas elsewhere. Tony Koester of Model Railroader fame recently (within the last few years) switched from coal mining to the NKP in Illinois/Indiana.

CANDCRR,

I get the same thing from my neighbors. My RR is in the front yard and my neighbors are always asking about the trains running. I am adding on so now the question is what will it look like and when will you finish. If I have my way I'dd do away with all of my grass and just make it one big garden in front, and lots of track.

If you approach it from an historical way, a railroad is always evolving. There is constant maintenence of way work to be done and extentions, branches and spurs.

I like the thing that says "Always complete, never finished!"

Never done. Always new ideas, new or improved track, rollong stock, and on and on. I try to get new track work in by early summer so my Wife and I can just sit back and enjoy. Worked well last year (the first year) we will see about this summer. We both have come up with ideas for this year that are beyond the RR budget. I look forward to seeing what actually happens. My neigjbor just asked when I'll be adding the track to go up to their deck. Found out they can see the tracks pretty well between the trees.
Thank you, Jaime

No doubt Train-me. It is so true. I cannot see me ever being finished. I have ideas way beyond my budget right now. Part of the fun is changing things anyway.

Hi train-me
A Wise Old Sage oops!! I mean railway modeler once told me.
A model railway is complete but it is never truely finnished.
There is always something to do add that siding or trackside signs or improve the compesiton over there.
Me i am adding some nice etched brass track side signs at the moment but then my line is nowhere near the complete stage of things.
regards John
