I've heard tell of Victoria bitter Ian and been told that it's not bad. We have a Cains brewery in Liverpool that makes some nice beers, nothing to do with toads though.

I don't think they can; build such a thng it is a serious problem and is costing this country hundreds of million dollars a year. They are heading our way and have been fro decades and their seems to be no answer.

I am not an uptight person nor do i drink XXXX but Victoria Bitter.

Don't imagine they have much fertilizer value. Ever look at how little of one is left after it's allowed to dry out over a couple of months? They ain't even as much as a seagull, and they ain't nothing but SH__, Squawk, & feathers!

You take what you can get. I don't have a lot of use for a 13 ft overhead door either, but it's quite nice to have open on a nice day.

Torby, [;)]

If they build a "toad-proof fence" across Queensland, they could install underground freezers with tunnels connecting the fence to the freezer. The toads drop in, get frozen, you open the hopper at the bottom, process the toads into fertilizer, bag the stuff and you're done. [:o)][;)][}:)]
Of course you need a sound system to attract the females etc. etc.

OK, sorry guys. No brains today. [;)][:)][:D]

Kinda brings the flavor of the outdoors in so to say. I think Vic does the same thing just with a shorter door[;)]

RE Cane Toads, they are stupidthings, just put your hand inside a plastic bag, go pickthem up, pull the bag over Toad and tie it shut, then place bag in Freezer until Garbage collection day, and place frozen Toad in Binwith the other rubbish. Humane and gets rid of pesky Toads.

Torby,

Hey, that's neat!
Thanks for the update, our space is almost the same but we don't have a high ceiling. Don't need it, our tallest trees in LS are about three feet.[;)][:)]

HJ,

The asylum is a loop of track with a passing siding and one stub siding on the floor. Not particularly impressive, but it provides something going on while I work.

Wellllllllllll guys,

Another good thread!

Read the header and right away I thought "They are handlaying turnouts!". Hmmmm, usually powered frogs work better. [}:)][}:)]

@Ian

You need to lighten up, mate. Have another XXXX!

I tell you, you must be the exception in OZ. When we went touring down there people were so laid back I said: "Any more laid back and they'll fall right back over!"
Speaking of cane toads: Do they swim? No!?! I'm sure the Tasmanians will like that. [:p][:p][}:)][:D][:D]

@ Torby,

I'm still waiting for the floor plan of the Asylum and the shop. Or did I miss it?!?[:o)][;)][:o)]

Not so here in Queensland, we are desperate to get rid of cane toads, they are an introduced species, with no natural enemies except man and they are spreading at an alarming rate southward from the tropical north, eating evrything in their path.

Maybe you need to install a frog viaduct! [:p] They actually did this in the western US....I think it was California. There is some rare species that had to cross a major highway as part of their routine. Needless to say lots of them were getting squished! So somebody had the idea to build an underpass for them. A few not so nice comments Ian;

1) Queensland has a problem with Cane toads ( 6" to 9" long frogs) and the governemnt in its unique way has promoted the local habit of driving cane toads with a no 2 wood. This is an actual activity and promotion to get rid of them, TV adds and all. They are also trying to establish a height record for hitting them with a 7 iron. as well.

2) I don't know if anyone else has an add on TV where this kids mother say "and get rid of that spider" you see a spider in a bottle with a terrified look on its face, trying to prevent itself from being kicked out. This is not easy as i don't think spiders have faces.

Well anyway I had the instance of my ICE train going through the pumphouse tunnel "at speed" and when it came to rest on the other side , there was a fair sized spider with a distinctly disgruntled stance, spread eagled across the nose of the ICE train. I think it must have been on its web in the tunnel and of course the tran came from nowhere and just took it withit. I wouldn't have believed it if i hadn't of seen it with my own eyes. Who says spiders don't have feelings.

Lastly I don't get into trouble for not turning my trains off, more for leaving my MTS reciever out.
