smcgill, what do have from your own "back yard" in S. Easton, Mass? In other words, when I visit Mass., what "yokel" should I look for? Thanks

Ian,

In my case it was a gondola car and caboose, but, I really like box cars and the variety that is available.

Hi,

No, lots of people do that in all different scales. Not necessarily rolling stock, any MRR gizmo that's "yocal" will do.

BTW, the scarcity of LS special run merchandise (as in "Yocal") is a result of the number (from 200 to 500) of cars required in the order if you want the mfg to run a batch.
Besides people may not necessarily buy what they see every day, that's too mundane![;)][:)] And most stores stock what sells.

Smcgill,

You're probably not the only person that would like to collect some kind of rolling stock, box car or what have you, decorated from the area you are visiting. I have seen this happen more with people that model in smaller scales where there is a larger variety of manufacturers and more willing to make up a limited number of a design for a local store or the like. Until "G" scale becomes more mainstream you will probably find that what hobby stores actually carry the scale probably carry the same products.

Take care,
Jack [:D]

Rusty mate; what do you mean by "cars"/
Please don't forget this is an international forum and words mean different things in different countries.

If you mean box cars, you have an unexpected supporter in me for American type boxcars, I have a few now and just love them, much more intersting than European ones.

I didn't swear where the astericks are, I said Alpha, Romeo, Sierra, Echo, Delta. Perhaps it means something else in the States.

When I go on vacation I always try to find out if there are going to be hobby shops in the area that carry RR merchandise. When it comes to cars and such from a particular area I would make my own. I am a big Jaguar's football fan so I have two cars that I have painted in their colors and logo.

Could you translate that into English?
