Open an Older LGB 2020 loco?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, April 17, 2005 10:09 AM
Can anyone give me a tip on how to get inside an older LGB 2020 loco? I have removed every screw I can find and there seems to be something holding the top to the bottom in the middle of the engine.

Thanks.- jim

Jim,you can try here

Anything to do with LGB can be a pain.Sometimes after the screws are removed ,a horizontal push is required (orsometimes a hammer)
Don't expect too much help from LGB regarding instructions.
Good luck

There's information here: http://www.wintaylor.f2s.com/lgb/stainz.php about fitting a decoder to the latest type of Stainz, not sure how much has changed over the years (the loco first appeared in the '60s!), but it might be of use.

Thanks Matt - I figured it out, the gear box drops out the bottom ( a couple of detail pieces were preventing this before) then the cab is held with a screw from the bottom.
Now I wonder if I can get it back together.
