I guess before I spent that much money on one loco, I would consider
for the same amount I could purchase:
A MTH Hudson, Challenger and 2 Big Boy's.
Also thrown in 2 Aristo Mallets.

Hi marlboro
I agree with the go for it sentiment.
But at that price it had better be live steam as far as I am concerned but then at that price it will not be.
I hope you have a long generous on the curves main line to get the best enjoyment value out of it that should have quite a hauling power to it.
I'll just go and phone the nice men in white suits with a nice padded van for you[swg]

$5,500 - for that money you could buy a car. You need to come down a few scales! HO Big Boy is only $600 (depending where you shop)

Could it be you have a little too much money burning a hole in your pocket???

Yeah, I,m up in the clouds on this one, Thanks for the comments, I just wanted to know if it be classified as physcotic to buy such an expensive engine, but then again, theres this hobby store in my area which boasts only brass, talk about expensive... Most of them are collectors items, which are Not for sale, but belong to this rich eccentric owner, who runs the hobby shop, and some things are for sale, go figure. Anyhooo, the Big Boy won,t be in before next year anyway, so till then, it,s overtime, and keep stuffing the bowling ball for the great day.

MM,

You've got the right idea; if you want something very badly and can afford it, then by all means go for it .... you only go around once.

When you want something you want it, if you can afford it, even better. Go for it Marlboro and I hope you enjoy every single moment of it, if you don't do it you will regret it - always!
Cheers,
Kim

Yep, I,ve finally decided to make a deposit on this big boy steel die cast dinosaur. Now that takes some guts, being I,m from Canada and my price quote for this toy is $5500.00 asides the taxes, which will touch the 6 grand mark in my wallet. I've always said, there,s 4 p,s in this hobby, Pride,Passion,Price, and PHYSCHO[:D][:D][:D] Does anyone else out there commend my descision, I mean, when you want something real bad, you just don,t give a hoot. WHAT are your impressions of this BIG BOY so far. I only can figure that it,s gonna take at least 2 UPS guys to deliver this thingy, as well as a forklift to set it on it,s tracks...[8D][8D][:D]
