Later blocks were 4 wires, easy, 2 track, 2 motor.
Early blocks were 3 wires, one track onlly, one is one side of motor only, the other is one side of motor and one side of track, tied together inside the block.
Takes some grinding and cutting, drill a hole, then solder a wire to the motor termonal and you've got it.
Maybe it has a later block in it, but you might not know until you buy it and open it up.

Yes you have a point mate, i am skilled enough but LGB instructions leave me abit non plussed ie I con't understnad them.

You will have problems, maybe.
I don't think the bumblebee LGB is "rare". Seen too many of them.
I THINK they were all w/o sound.
ALL the ones I have seen were the older motor blocks with 3 wires.
Yes, you can modify the block to work, but are you skilled enough to do so?
The older blocks were NOT plug and go.

I'm afraid I can't help you with an LGB Mogul, but I just put an AirWire900 wireless DCC receiver/decoder into a Bachmann 1:20.3 scale Mogul and a sound system into the tender. I removed the Bachmann's smoke generator, which isn't any good anyway, and put the receiver/decoder into the front of the boiler with the antenna (a 3 inch wire) sticking up into the smoke stack. I put a DSX sound decoder into the tender together with a 3-inch diameter speaker. There wasn't room in the tender for the AirWire receiver.

I was able to do this without having to add any additional wiring between the tender and locomotive -- the wires that were already on the Bachmann were all I needed.

I run all of my locomotives on battery power, too, so I stripped out all of the electrical pickups from the locomotive and tender wheels. You'd be surprised how much drag these things put on a locomotive and tender's wheels.

I do not run American trains at all but for years i have had the desire to have a single old style American train, pulled by an unusual coloured Mogul ( I love Moguls). There is one on ebay at the moment, pretty old but in mint condition and I am thinking seriously about making an offer they can't refuse, as i do from time to time and I have nearly got Doreen talked into it.

I have a few questions that my mates on this forum might be able to help me on.

1/ They say their is room in the tender for a sound system, is this good thing?
2/ Is yellow really a rare colour for an LGB Mogul?
3/ Do you think I will have any trouble fitting a working LGB decoder to it and does anyone know if I will need two; one for the engine and one for the tender or not?
4/ Does anyone know how tall the smoke stack is above the rails, as some of my overpasses only have 190 mm clearonce above the rails.

Any help would be apprecitaed.
