layout software

I hope this doesnt sound too cheap for I am on a limited bidget. Is there any free layout planning software out in cyberspace somewhere? I have a 12' by 7 1/2' rectangle and would like to expand in the near future but I am not sure what i want to do with it and this would help out a lot.
