My first scratch built caboose

This is my first G scale scratch built caboose. It started out in life as a Bachman bobber caboose. I used the shell and a set of trucks I had and some other details. The care frame was built from scratch. I was just wondering what you all thought of it. Any ideas and or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
The frame under distruction:

Nice construction, Phantom. What did you use for the steps? And what wood did you use for the frame?

The steps aaa Welp I stole them from a new-bright caboose I bought when I first got into G scale. One of those ebay oopses. The wood used in the frame came from WallMart. In there craft Dept. the offer a pack of would for $3.00 . There are 2 of each size in the pack. I also use a skinny stick pack from wall mart that looks just like 2x4’s.

Hi Phantom
Nice job got any rail off cuts you can dump on the deck and an oxy set perhaps??
I see you called your RR Turtle Creek a while back MRR mage put some freebee decals in asst scales in the mag It might be worth contacting
Klambach and finding out who produced them and where any of the freebies G scale and if not is there a problem with you asking the company to produce you some in G.
Maybe talk to Rene about that one.
I think Phil wants to know what type of wood it is Jarrah Ramin god forbid Balsa

OOPS… The wood is hard wood. I do not have any of the packages left that the wood came in or do I… HHmmm… The Co. that put them out is “ Foster “ here is a photo of them. But they are hard wood, not balsa. The sticks / boards are almost a pine color but no sap ( Thank GOD ). The package dose not say what type of tree they come from. I think it’s a good thing it’s a type of hard wood. I just see the Caboose snapped in half, after a hard couple or two.
I have used some “Turtle Creek “ decals from the Model Railroader mag. That where released. I contacted the Decal publisher and found that they where a limited run and there where not many left. But they did offer to run more if I bought a large lot of them. I think the publisher was Micro scale not sure.
I’ll have to look up the box of cut off rail and finde some other cool stuff for the deck. Thanks for the ideas!

Hey there,
Thanks for sharing your project with us. I always enjoy seeing what others are doing. Nice job BTW. I find scratchbuilding the most rewarding. Still laugh at some of my first stuff. Then again that's part of the fun...growing, learning and just plain getting better at it with each one. Keep up the good work. Later eh...Brian.
