Have you ever had a bad day chasing trains?


You could not


Get ahead of them!!

They arrived before you set up.


And it was NOT the train you thought it would be!!!




And you fell down while taking the shot!!!!


And the lighting was not good.



But you keep tring.
You ONLY get a ...Glimpse!!!!!!
I'll try hard tomorrow.

I first saw the pics I thought they were Challenger pics from jhhtrainsplanes over on the Trains.com forum, he's a rabid Challenger foamer..[:D][tup]

Jason, these two photos are for ,,Y O U!!!!



This is on a 20' dia curve coming off the canyon bridge. Shows the swing.





Compare the two units.


Compare the length.
The only problem i've had so far is any little sticks on the track derails the front wheel. Tracks need to be clear. I'm used to the bone crushing D9s.
It was very easy to install the TE in the tender and i mounted a Kadee on back 830 and a 789 on front after redrilling it out, I will change that to a 1789 when I get one.
i did set the tender closer and plan to lower it about 3/16".
weathering, i'm already looking at color photos of the 1:1 engines.
Very nice engine , and thats coming from a ,,DIESEL FAN. Bigger is better on the NTCGRR.

Thanks for the ideas, guys. I had the front truck off and it is heavy and there is a sprung metal pushing down. If it were a 4 wheel truck there may not be as much problem. Last night i ran passenger trains and had no (0) problems.

There is something nice and "Nostalgic" about a Challenger pulling those coaches. Big Boy would look nice bulling your hoppers.

Marty, last year at the BTS , MTH had a booth with a Challenger running and that was on a 8foot diameter curve and WOW talk about overhang, but it was chugging along without any problems![8D]
