Track magnets

I posted this question on the wrong thread. Could I ask again? I purchased a phoenix sound system and am operating on a basic level at the moment. I didn`t buy any magnets at the time and they would be difficult to get in the UK. Will the LGB magnets work with this system.
I am a complete novice in sound system so would appreciate a leg up.

Yep, no problem whatsoever. Just remember that the LGB magnet has the magnet located to one side so just make sure it's located on the same side as your reed switch. Do you have reed switches hooked up for bell and whistle? I do and have placed them on opposite sides of the loco. That way I get the bell when I want and the horn when I want. also, just about any magnet, if strong enough will work. you just have to have a good way of securing it so that the metal parts on the motor don't scoop it up when it passes over.

Thanks Mark
That`s all I needed to know. I want to eventually progress onto triggering the horn/whistle thru my Train Engineer.
All the best
