QUOTE: Hey guys, stop over in the garden forum at the off topic subject. One guy, Troy Betts killed the coffee shop thread, and he is starting up again. Say hello, and post your support. Thanks

QUOTE: I support coffee threads. THey can also be found in MR and CTT forums and the main purpose is to keep all off-train topics within one post so that they don't clutter the forum up. We are, after all, people who need to share in humanity and it gives an excellent exchange medium. Furthermore, a lot of stuff in coffee thread has to do w/trains.

If you don't like, kindly skip over it

I gave my support to the Garden thread.

Those garden RRs are really something else! What a way to model the real thing. There's a rather interesting post there about lightning strikes. In future, would like a small (but expandable) outdoor layout, but will likely be a 3-rail one using N/S rails.

Now Tim do we have to conform to your idea of what train forums should be? if we don't we will be assimilated?

No offense to anyone that participated in the coffee threads, I know I did. But it seems to me that Tim has nothing more in his agenda than to assimilate the GR forum into the coffee shop thread syndrom. OMG it's a shame that we don't have a coffee shop in the garden. Could be because we can talk amongst ourselves without the need for a special thread.

Personally if you have a question ask it, we all know it will be answered. If you want opinions ASK we'll tell ya.

Do we really need a 300 page thread about the weather? I say no. But we could have a daily thread that dies off and gets archived in it's own time easily.

Tim, I'll read you posts, granted they actually have something to do with LS.
But if your reason to post in the GR forum is no more than to try and get a coffee shop thread started that you want to micro manage please stay a CTT and MR.

Later,
Jack
