Don't worry! It's just mailing now. I started posting the updates a bit earlier b/c I want to make sure the online exclusives are live *before* people get their mags. I know I hate getting a mag where it says find "X" on their web site, and when you go there, it's nowhere to be found!

With the magazine getting thicker and thicker, and G-scale becoming more popular, is there any hope of Garden Railways going to monthly publication? Two months between issues sometimes makes time seem to really drag. By the time I get a new issue, the ink has been rubbed off of the corners on some of my pages.

I ll second cacole s motion for a monthly mag, two months is getting hard to wait for, even though Rene didn t accept my renaming of the GRR discussion, HeHe. You should have seen the private e-mails I ve gotten on this one!!! Yep, still here Rene, but mellowed out a bit, it s all Capt. Bob s fault anyways!!!! You know those river boat captains are capable of anything!!!! Just pulling your leg there Bob!!!!!

Please keep Garden Railways bi-monthly. Most monthly magazines get pretty boring and repetitious and the columnists often seem to be groping for worth while topics. The present Garden Railways editorials and columns are invariably interesting and thoughtfully presented. Although the large scale hobby is growing, it is still a relatively small portion of model railroading and you would find it difficult to maintain your present level of interest and quality if you published monthly. Also, garden railroading, at least as I practice it, is a pretty leisurely activity. I'm always looking forward the next issue of Garden Railways but never in a hurry to receive it. Just my opinion.

Right now, GR has no plans to change frequency. Yes, the magazine and hobby have grown over the years, but it is still a smaller segment of the model-railroading hobby. However, each year, our marketing team looks at the possibility of adding issues or other products. For now, we are sticking to 6x, but are now coming out with new "premiums" (last year was tips & tricks, this year will be a gardening premium).

I think it's fortunate to have a "good" problem like this. Always nice to hear that more issues are wanted. Makes me feel good about what we're doing.

Hey Rene,
Looking forward to the day when it has grown to where there is no choice but to go to 12X a year! Doing our best here to help it along. Later eh...Brian.

With the restriction on one review per manufacturer per issue every month would sure help at times.
Of course, just think of how you're going to store double the issues!

Hello Rene: [:D]

I was wandering if the organization (GR.) [;)] could send

(For now, we are sticking to 6x, but are now coming out with new "premiums" (last year was tips & tricks, this year will be a gardening premium).

This Garden premium to the hordes (winers) that get the Mag. each time, or are they planning to offer it to new subscribers??? [^] [bow]

The gardening premium will be done like last year's tips & tricks: bagged with the newsstand copies only. It will probably be used as a new subscriber offer down the road as well.

However, anyone who'd like a free copy can email customerservice@kalmbach.com and they will mail you one out. BUT, it's _not_ available yet, so please don't send an email now. They won't know what you're asking for.

Perhaps you could do like "Country Living" did ...

Leave the magazine bimonthly, but make a second one with a specific focus that comes out on the off months. Then some would subscribe to Garden Railways, some would subscribe to the special focus magazine, and us hard core nuts would subscribe to both.
