FYI - BNSF new logo
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 3, 2005 1:50 PM
Per Mr. Heier, Captain/Police Services RPT

Today the circle with the cross as we know now in center is now Obsolete!

The cigar band is also now Obsolete!

Both will be replaced by a line under BNSF

Note: only legal paper work like law suits and such will have Burlington Northern Santa Fe on it.

Heres the new logo....

[xx(]
heres how it will look on engines...

Eeeewwwww! Something stinks![B)]

The new logo doesnt look too ugly, until its but on the side of an engine then it just dont look right...the logo looks like a 1960's swoosh item, but the rest of the engines so straightlaced conservative with its pin stripping it just doest Jive! maybe a black and orange job similar to CSX would work better with those letters

   Have fun with your trains

Its very ugly, IMHO.

I would much rather see GN's sky blue, or NP some way, come back inot the mix.

Looks like some sort of running shoe

I think you're quite lucky. If someone had painted British Rail on the side of it
1.It would probably never move again
2.If it did ,it would cost a fortune
and 3.if it moved too far it would fall off the track due to bad track management or wheelspin forever on a large leaf.!

They're union painters. It's probably in their contract somewhere that they have to have a new logo every so often...

It's not like they're gonna call in all their motive power for a paint job. Just today I saw a 40+ year old GP30 (and 35's) sporting their bluebonnets. And believe me, these old dogs needed some paint.

Well, at least we can look forward to Aristo to come out with a dash 9 Heritage XXVII soon! [:D]

Looks to me like something that should be on an aircraft...not our trains. Definately not right with the paint scheme. Try again guys....please. Later eh...Brian.

Ian

No offense meant, Ian, but I don't like it when people place huge, oversized pictures of their trains or row after row of jiberish in their signature, but I don't go complaining about it, do I?

Espeefoamers obviously places that there because it is very important to him. I also doubt that your panties would be in a bunch if it was something about islam or wicca, right?

Sorry, but you can't go around trying to stop every little thing that offends you. If I tried to do so, I'd have an anurism just from thinking about it. I will defend someone's right to post what they want, as long as it isn't hateful or deceitful.

If you don't like viewing others signatures go to your profiles and turn that option off. If you won't do that, just don't read them. Problem solved.

Now, back to the regular scheduled topic.

It doesn't take long to get back to normal does it? Long live free speech, or whatever the forum equivalent is!

I agree wholeheartedly.

BTW: I don't like the new BNSF logo. I have my own advertising, marketing and Web design firm and can't stand when new images replace old ones with no regard for history.

Both of BN and SF have a great, rich history. None of that is evident in the new logo. Instead, we see something that looks "Buck Rogerish." Geeze. And to think that some design firm earned big $$ to develop that. Unbelievable.
