Paul
I realized that my cylinders have a " Duracell" look to them! Copper pipe caps from the hardware store are cylinder heads. Plus detail parts from Train Li. I am happy with the look.
Heavy Bushwhacking to tidy up the overgrown shrubbery has taken time away from other projects, but necessary. My garden railway is mostly completed other than maintenance and scenic enhancements. Maintenance is a constant.
And, the Stainz needed something. A, a dude ! Just what it needed.
Paul,
Nice job on the Zillertal! Ours ate "his" idlers again earlier this year, so, much as we love the lumbering looks of this loco, we retired "him" to ceremonial duties. TrainLi rebuilt him from the bottom up a couple years ago, to include replacing the chassis, drive wheels, rods, and axes. There is something going on that is beyond that rework, I guess!
Eric
Hi Eric,
I have a lot of older trains, many H0 and N from 40 to 60 years ago. Sometimes I can fix them and keep them going, sometimes they become display models. Just worn out, and even if I get them going, maybe not for long. Others just keep going. Who knows why? It's the normal cycle of things, unfortunately....
My cog engine is wearing down the teeth on the cog gear. I ordered a new drive wheel set with cog gear from Train Li, and I have it ready when needed. I should get a second backup cog engine, because I am running this one always.

I cannot "start a conversation" with you. No idea why. e-mail me on your Zillertal chassis.

Hi C,
I wasn't clear if you were trying to reach me or Eric? Some features on these forums don't actually work....
We just grin and bear it....
Yeah, I know. Finally found out Outlook Express 11 will sometimes work.
If you have a trashed Zillertal drive, I know where there is a 2071 chassis.

O.K., thanks!
My Zillertal has been good, no problem. Eric has been battling problems on and off, he may need this.
Thanks again,
