Keep an eye out for the mail man,,,person. You'll have the answer. It depends on what RC unit you use and how its needed See my winter photos . the 30 car coal train with 3 -9 pulling. I have made some dumby units cause 3 units will pull most RRs apart, so it will save battery if you run two units. I rewired all my USAT the same way that Aristo comes from the factory. I wich they all would learn from Aristo..
I have an RCS unit that is 10 amp and its working great in a trailing car. I also have 6 TE units. Takes time but I let others run the trains when they visit. Or they bring their own trains.

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

MM,

Maybe Marty Cozad will read this thread and give you concrete answers. In the meantime, I'd guess you'd be running a battery car for each loco. Some of these large 2-motor diesels draw upwards of 10 amps at full load, that's a huge load on an on-board battery pack.

If I go to battery power, how many locos can be driven together, I ve got 5 dash niners, and an SD-45. Want to lash em up all together, what kind of power consumption does this demand from the battery, or should I say , maybe batteries. Looking into this aspect of power in the near future, dragging about 30 box cars. Keep seeing those posts on battery driven railroads, just a looking!!! And lastly, how do you go about charging and recharging without buying a seperate battery charger, Can they charge by running electric D.C.
