YOU KNOW I'VE BEEN READING A LOT ABOUT THE BUDDY-L VS. BACHMAN AND THE LIKE. I think the Buddy-L serves two purposes in the market. [1] Is the notalgia of the Buddy-L name in general. Tin Toys from way back in the day! [2] As far as G-Scale trains is concerned it fits in between low and high quality, not fake but not realistic. They run fairly well and look fairly good while they're doing it. AND the programed sound is actually surprisingly realistic and loud! IT IS A GREAT train for entertaining youth while under the Christmas Tree. MAYBE that's it's calling: TO Kindle interest in the young who see things differently than we do. IT SURE worked for my kids. They're grown now and still love setting it up under the tree every year!
Have fun with your trains
