Hi all,
I'm a college student from Michigan who's been into trains all his life. Always been interested in the mechanics of steam and locomotives and have begun designing/CADing a 7.5" gauge locomotive on SolidWorks.
I've always liked the look of the steamers from the LNER, so the loco has three cylinders (hoping to make it compound as well). I've been having a problem with clearance for the middle crank across the lead axle so I designed it with a large bend to compensate. I realize this is not prototypical but would it work at this scale? Shaft is 5/8" wide x 3/8" thick min and cylinders are Ø2.5" diameter with ~5" stroke
