any new indoor RR's or planned new ones in 2005

i sure hope so with all the new train sets under the tree hope there put into use for all year round. and adding more new stuff like me im waiting on the usat new sd70mac soon was told first quater of this year.

Hey there,
Adding on to my indoor line this year. Today we are cleaning out the "Hobby room" as we call it so I can add on to the layout. Better get at it. Later eh...Brian.

Come spring I am going to clear the shed,ha ha(do you understand "shed" in the US ) and make it into my tram depot.That way ,my sons can have the mainlines for the trains and I can sneak out and attack them with an interurban service.A penny for each passenger.Their pocket money is coming back to me[:D]
However,those plastic people just stand there.Don't they understand that the world is just one stop down the line!

Maybe you need a banner on the side of your tram advertising that great eatery that serves plastic fish n chips there at the next stop ?

Gonna finish what I started last year . Phase 2 will be a water feature and a lot more scenery to plant . I can't wait till this cold weather is gone . In the meantime i'm gonna do some rolling stock weathering .

We Americans understand the word "shed". Many of us even own them. The only difference is that American sheds are located in yards and English ones are in gardens. After forty two years of marriage to an English woman I have become bi-lingual.

Hey Steve,

No new stuff under the tree but I got lots of old stuff to fiddle around with...Got most of my new revised track layout down, half is wired upjust have to clear off a short piece of benchwork and put down the rest of track. Built the one new small wing, and need to add one small area to the benchwork. Just been tough with all this dam rain we been getting. I cant move stuff out of the garage to sort through it so I'm trying to work around stuff, which sucks! Now that I have a final plan that I like, once track is down next is the small area of mountains to carve out of foam. I have a bunch of foam and i want to use it or get rid of it. Later Vic

Talking about sheds; did you know there is a book available here in australia called "Blokes and there Sheds". Some of them get in the doghouse so much they are very comfortable in their sheds.

Now on to another matter; I am not planning a new railway for 2005 but I am new inter line for 2006, 2005 is already spoken for. Any one who would like to see some pictures just let me know, then you will probably be able to understand what I am going to do. If I haven't got yopur email address pls contact me and I will email you right back.

The rail will be about 40 to 50 metres long, elevated and nearly dead straight. this track will join my viaduct in area 3 (west) up to the centre of the clockwise reversing loop in area 1 (east).

It will start by coming off the eastern end of the viaduct via a right hand R3 set of points (switch) now east all the time, about a metre elevated track, then onto the top of the pumphouse tunnel which will now become a double decker tunnel and it will go through the top deck (2.8M long) out into area 2, it will run about 20 metres mainly along the pool and 250 mm above the exisiting track, thence through a small tunnel in a 200 mmm thick wall, a downward slope right into the middle of clockwise reversing loop in area 1 via another set of right hand points

How do I think these thinngs up? I really don't know.

I have an 10` x 8` shed which used to house the 00 terminus. Since the demise of the 00 garden layout, it has become a storeroom for anything that didn`t fit in the house or garage. I want to extend the `G` into the shed to make a reversing loop ready for the Spring and temporarily store trains in `damp` weather. I know these trains are supposed to be showerproof but I would rather keep them dry.
I venture into the shed, move the stuff out, then decide I don`t want to throw it away and put it back. This could go on until Spring.
My shed used to be my domain, the control panel for the 00 was in there. I even had a phone line extension in there. I had to disconnect that everytime I closed up in case somebody broke into the shed and dialled Australia etc. Shed thieves are common in this country. They sometimes remove your whole garden furniture. Another reason why the train stock lives in the house when not running.

Being a typical Brit and with the garden line just a few yards off completion I have decided to lift the whole thing about 3 bricks off the ground, same directions will be followed - ish! The reason behind this is that my back garden turns into a lake this time of year so up it comes and the space between the raised track can then be flagged and the rain water drained away. My mate next door is a brickie so he'll do the brick work neatly and cheaply.

Thanks Steve, you dont know the half of it...Not anywhere near as bad as 4 Hurricanes in one years but this current storm its been raining for 4 days straight, not a gentle Seattle type rain, HEAVY constant hard rain, I stopped measuring, since just before X-mas we've had 3 large heavy rainstorms that have dumped 21 inches of rain downtown, our normal for this time of year is 4. Where I live near the foothills its been closer to 30" so far this winter. 5 inches around Thanksgiving, 5 after, 5 before xmas, 5 after xmas, 5 at new years and now we have the Pinnapple Express which describes when the Jet Stream picks up the moisture from off Hawaii and funnels it into California mixing in arctic moisture, we get rain like in Biblical proportions! I had to clear stuff off the garage floor because water is seeping in from the sides, our streets are flooded, rivers are close to overflow, hillsides are sliding, and now tomarrow their expecting an arctic low pressure system to slam into the warm humid tropical moisture and get slammed right into SoCal...

Isnt this what happened in the Movie "The Perfect Storm" ?[:(]
