While in ACE hardware yesterday I came across this birdhouse that has some stunning detail, while small, they are fairly inexpensive, and built for out doors. I have a couple of other brand ones on my layout but are not near the detail that these are, sold by various dealers one of which is amazon. Think in the right setting they would add some nice detail to a layout, they are made by Home Bazaar, Bill

I just bought 3 for my setup ! $26.99 is cheaper than some HO kits I bought recently. And they're assembled !

I'd say that is 1:24-ish PLAYMOBIL scale!

One thing, be careful, some of these use ordinary Elmer's type glue in their assembly and parts will come apart when exposed to weather, so keep a bottle of Titebond III handy to reattach things over time.
