i was looking at their add in GRYs mag last night after your Q came up. I did notice that coupler, front end steps ,and trucks is all mounted together. Which is very O scale looking and which means there is no way to body mount couplers. I not a toy train kinda person so that turns me off alittle.
I have alot of my photos on My Largescale.coms server. which you pay for ,but you get to share them with others on alot of other sites. Really makes it worth it and easy

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

I appreciate your comments on the MTH Challenger loc. I saw one at my local train store. It looked great. I am glad to hear you are pleased with yours.

Hello Mr. bkkk , I have one of the MTH Challenger locomotives . I run it outside all the time . I have to say it is my favorite engine . The proto 2 sound and control system is great ! I can record a "session" as long as 90 minuites and it remembers every keystroke I did for that time . So every blow of the whistle and every start and stop and more is recorded for playback . This is handy when we have visitors over . The only drawback with this particular locomotive is its pulling power. It seems as all of the engine weight is over the back two sets of drivers . I have added weight to the front drivers but haven't tried the engine yet . I'm sure the dash 8 will have better weight distrubution .All in all I am very pleased with mine and the scale difference , at least with this engine is not noticeable .

I have ordered an MTH 1 gauge SF Dash 8, but it will be at least a week before I receive it. Maybe between now and then I can figure ouit how to post a picture or two on this forum.

So far the biggest complaint about MTH 1 gauge seems to be the 1:32 scale, which is somewhat smaller than "G scale." If I already had a large stable of "G Scale" locs and rolling stock, I would not buy this line of products for not being compatable as to size and couplers.

Stay tuned.

Mr bkkkk
I'd like to have you buy one and share photos of it with us. I'm interested in how they run and pull. Here in the boring corner of NE there is none to look at first hand.
keep us posted.

Anyone have any experience or comments on the new MTH 1 Gauge trains? I am thinking of buying their just released ATSF Dash 8 locomotive. Appearance iand detail are great, and I like the fact that it can be run on AC or DC, and the price seems very reasonable. Proto sound is awesome. Scale is 1:32.
