I would start with my budget, how much maintenance I was willing to commit to, and see what options I had based on the remote control system I was using, if you want remote control.
If you do not want remote control, use the manual throws that come with the switches.

I use old computor 18vdc power supplies, and operate with momentary double pole center off switch from electronics supply or use proper size battery 12 volt would probably do
Howdy all,
Please help a new designer for a outdoor "G" scale layout here in northern Idaho.
I would like to use battery power only for the trains.....I would like help on how to "power" switches for the system which will have no power to the track. Remote capability would be nice.....
