chocho willy No I'm using $.98 pathway lights from walmart, you can see one on this forum from 1/1/18 under lisa lularoe on in this last edition of GRW mag on back page labled 1 page project, some pathway lights are 1.2vdc led's and the brighter ones are also 1.2vdc but use higher voltage LED's for more brightness. Found that although both are 1.2 vdc battery driven that the higher voltage Led ones are fed more volts by a transformer that ups the 1.2 vdc volts to around 2.4+ by using a devise called a joule thief. Very interesting stuff. I was trying to light a water tower blinking red light and although it would light it wouldn't blink, but adding more voltage around 2.4 it does. So since my post I have connected 2 solar panels and 2 batteries together in series and now seeing if it will charge the batteries. Be safe, Bill

Do you mean a 24v system? Yes. I use an inexpensive charge controller by Morningstar for projects like this. Wire your batteries the same way.

Does anyone know if you can tie two solar panels together plus to minus plus to minus and also add a additional batery the same way, in series, and wind up with a 2.4 vdc system?
