I‘ve inherited a two-truck 36 T Bachmann Shay with batteries in the water tank that will no longer take a charge. The exploded view online is no help in removal of the tank so I hope someone has some insight!
There seems to be one last screw where the one through the hatch is located. Is it possible that it was glued in place during reassembly? Or am I missing something really obvious?
Thanks!
Neil
Neil I have no clue but between these 2 web sites I'm sure you will find your answer the first site is older and second by Greg has his personal email address and you find him more that helpful. When you find your answer please post it for others, Bill http://girr.org/girr/tips/tips1/shay_tips.html,https://elmassian.com/
Thank you! It turned out that the screw had been replaced and stripped. With effort and a modified screwdriver on a grinder, the whole tank came off with little problem. There was a liberal about of hot glue used to hold the NiCad batteries in place but some contact cleaning did the trick and I was up and running.
When I get to a good WiFi connection to Upload to YouTube please check it out and be kind about the missing front coupler !!
