Thought it a little strangethat someone would complain about not having access to all of the items on line, what does he think pays for these fetchers? Get off the wallet and help out

Thanks, Rene.  I will collect my thoughts in short order...and maybe hit spell check while I am at it!

Eric, the best way would be to email Marc directly. I would use 35th anniversary or something similar in the subject line so he knows that's what it is.

I would like to see costumer useable garden layouts at retail establishments. Example: Walter Anderson Nursery in Poway, CA. In among the palm trees, the strawberries, the poinsettas, and all the plants that thrive in San Diego area there are a thousand feet or so of fully sceniced garden railroad. Customers can schedule an appointment to run their own trains on the layout. I am well aware that this topic would need a couple years not months to put together. Just food for future thoughts.

Aloha Rene,

I am working on some reflections.  When would you need them?  And would you prefer them here or via Mr. Marc Horowitz' e-mail?  If the latter, is there a title we should use to avoid the "spam filter?"

Thanks,

Eric

Also how technologically different trains and train controls are, once upon a time a single LGB power pack controlled your analog empire. compared to the various multi-train control systems at your fingertips now, DCC, R/C, etc. and the added power options available today vs traditional analog track power that was the only option back then.

A lot of good suggestions were made on the Facebook post, I'll repeat mine here. Juxtapose how very different and how very far outdoor layouts have come in 35 years. I have very old issues that show state of the then art layouts that would be primitive by today's expectations, or just like mine ;-) R1 curves tucked into corners and laid out in planters next to lawns weaving thru existing long established plants. Compared to the custom retaining walls designer landscaped digital controlled multi-line multi-loop layouts today

Paul, this is not the question we are asking. However, non-subscribers have access to a lot of content, like:

All hobby news

New products

Video 101 series

High-tech modeling for garden railroaders series

Beginners content

Plus there is more content you have access to if you are registered (and since you posted here, you are).

2018 marks Garden Railways magazine’s 35th year. We’d like to do something special in our December issue to close out the year. Toward that end we’re asking you, the readers, for suggestions of what you’d like to see included. Is there a railway, story, or topic that you’d like to see revisited? Perhaps you could tell us of a favorite issue, and why you liked it. What does the hobby mean to you? Drop us a note—we’d like to hear from you.
