i want to make a small layout in G scale with one engine and a small locshop.
I need the height of such a building and the height of the sectional door.
The compagny is Union Pacific and it's in 1/22,5.
If possible please in metric system
Thank you
Union Pacific and Amtrak in Belgium
Not sure if this helps, but, from my experience of locomotive sheds (steam) the doors are about 3 feet (1 meter) taller than the smoke stacks of the tallest engine of the line. The doorways are about 3~4 feet wider than the locomotives on each side, again about one meter plus a little bit. The roof height depends on how wide the shed is. The buildings are about 8~10 feet wider on one side of the locomotive (3~3.5 meter) and up to 16~18 feet on the other side for office/lunch room space. (4~5 meters.) The roof generally runs on a roof pitch of 1:1.5 (1 meter wide to 1.5 meters tall) plus a clearstory that has roof windows for shop ventelation. Normally about 3 feet tall (1 meter). I hope this will help. This is based upon wooden steam loco shops that I have visited.
