instead of throwing the bachmann track away ,i used the straight track , and put it on my 8 shelves that are 6 to 8 ft. long, it worked out fine ,to put my trains and cars on , i had every thing sitting on the shelve with on track . , now i don't. Ben[:)]

Better Yet, Stop Production, make a compatable brass or stainless track and sell it at the ever lower Bachmann prices!

I don't kmnow anything about Bachman track but i do know this method of "roll forming" track isn't popular and interchanging track of different metals makes you a prime candidate for electrolysis problems

I also know that just about all successful layouts have brass track of a number of slightly different alloys and you would want to have a very good reason for going away from it.

So without saying a word against Bachman; the answer in short is no Virginia don't do it.

This has always made me wonder why Bachmann even bothers selling their track[:O][%-)][D)]

Keep any straight sections for storage or display.

I can't imagine an e-bay add for selling bachmann track unless it said

Bachmann track has a plastic core that extends into the rail joint that does not allow a connection (electrical or otherwise) with LGB. The main fact remains that Bachmann track rusts into oblivion outdoors, very good for indoor or portable running, not for outdoor use!!!!

You really don't want the Bachmann track. I expect there will be a lot of it showing up on Ebay 'cause of all the guys who bought the Sams Club set to get the Annie loco.

Bachman track is not suitable for outdoor use. I do not believe the connectors would work between Bachman and LGB. At least the Bachman track I have would not work with LGB. Aristo and LGB track is compatible. The Bachman track will rust very rapidly if used outside.

Is LGB track compatible w/ Bachmann track

Good Morning,
Just getting started in large scale and was looking to procure some track via e-bay. Quite a bit of LGB and Bachmann available. I was wondering if the two can be used together?

Any problem w/ joiners?
Do you know if the size (code) of the rail seems to be similar or do they have different code rail between the two?
Any other concerns?
Thx
