Piko Analog Reversing Unit
Posted by pirate lynn on Saturday, May 21, 2016 8:22 PM

Have a question re: Piko Reversing Unit (#35030)--I'm building a point to point trolley to run along my patio.  It'll be long--probably about 25 feet or so and I'm thinking Piko's unit.  My question is (for anybody with knowledge or who has one) is when I connect power clamps from my LGB power source to the track, as for running normal operations, do I need to connect clamps from the Piko unit to the track as well (in other words, 4 sets of clamps instead of the usual 2)? Or do I just connect the analog reversing unit to my LGB transformer.  I'm confused because I read Piko said I only need to connect clamps from my power. Also, I know I need to insulate, using insulated rail joiners at each end of track.  When will power know to resume for trolley to start back?  As you guys can see, I'm new to reversing so I really appreciate any help. Many thanks!!

Power connections as per the diagram. Power supply to the A.R. unit "power in" and to the rails from the "power out".

No direct connection from power supply to rails.
