You may want to check out Railroad Concept's reversing unit. I like it because it ramps the speed up and down at the ends, giving more realistic starts and stops, and also saving wear and tear on the gears.

I have the old LGB unit and have seen the newer Piko unit. As an analog dinosaur the Piko seemed to be more electronically updated. Not so many little pieces (resistors, diodes etc (?)) and what resembled a computer chip. Piko is a brand I would trust. But that is just me.

I'm building a point to point trolley and am considering the Piko Analog Reversing Unit. Looks like an easy hook up (am using small LGB power supply from starter set). Just wanted to know if anyone has experience with the Piko unit. Would like the LGB unit but apparently it isn't made anymore and used ones on Ebay are more than a new Piko one. As always, any feedback appreciated.
