Digitrax and LGB programming decoder address
Posted by railroader21 on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 10:11 PM
I have recently purchased a Digitrax Superchief Xtra 8 Amp starter set. I have been able to select my mts equipped LGB locomotives on the default decoder address "3" I have been able to activate sound, lights, motors functions as well as being able to customize some CV value such as light voltage and acceleration delay while in OPS Mode. The only thing I cant seem to program is changing the decoder address. I just want to change the decoder from the default "3" to 4, or anything compatible with mts 3 (1-22) address system. Has anyone used a digitrax system to change the decoder address of their LGB / mts equipped engine? I have attempted multiple times and the throttle responds "Good" but the address doesn't change. Is there anything else I should try to program the new address? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Note: I have tried programming the address on both the mainline and the programming track to no avail

Are programming on the main, or in service mode (programming track).

I am assuming you are trying only short addresses. You may have to lift the loco from the tracks for 30 seconds after programming.

I believe you must use service mode, but really need the model number of your decoder on the LGB equipment.
