Winter sports have begun...

Hey guys,
Our first snowfall here came down wet and froze. Oh well. Got to play with Marty's Rotary plow at the MWLSTS back in May. It is really cool. Definately on my list (which is too large) of things to build. Snow sure can be fun...especially with Large Scale. Later eh...Brian.

We got our first snowfall about 2 weeks ago, @ 2 ~ 3 inches accumulation in our area. Made for a miserable drive home that night (1 & 1/2 hours) [V] for what's normally a 50 ~ 55 minute commute. But next morning, got to exercise my new Aristo-craft plow by shoving it with the Accucraft live-steam 3-cylinder Shay! [:D] VERY prototypical with the Shay slipping it's drivers shoving the plow up the 3%-or-so grade on wet rail (first time I've seen it lose it's footing) - maybe I should consider adding a scale sander? [:-,] Back it up & ram the snow with it again repeatedly, eventually got the track cleared! [^] Watching the steam exhaust shoot skyward while the snow curved off the plow blade - PRICELESS! In between the winter games I still get to do bits and pieces. Finally got the letter up on the silos.


Takes time, but things slowly come together.

I'm still waiting here in Chicago to use my snowplow. The two snowfalls we have had so far froze solid. Like the picture Marty !

just keep the snow where you live, when it does come , I HAVE 100 FT of track inside the house set up . but i do run in the winter, WHEN WEATHER permits enjoy .Ben

You heard me, Garden railroading is a winter sport.



First snow of the year and the BN SD-45s are clearing Bang's Canyon bridge for the first time. Wasn't even a challenge for the wedge plow, so the rotary just sat in the shops.[:(]
