I have to agree, Vic, the CONSERVATIVE look of the locomotive and rolling stock with the decorative cargo is much more my style than locomotives and rolling stock that is "Christimasy."

I think a "Polar Express" type of Chrsitmas train would suit me fine!!

Looks good, Victor. I sure wish someone sold 36-inch diameter track on a commercial basis with paving blocks built in for use with a trolley line. I would buy some in a flash.

By the way, Martha is a Jersey Girl!

So far no binding, I'm using stock LGB cars that have the pivoting axles, when coupled with hook and loop coupler they can take some ridiculous curvature. The 2 Santa's, Snowman and one of the Trees are actually Xmas placecard holders we found at Marshalls, the brass rings are for dinner placecards. I havent even added the lights yet!

I got the idea after visiting a LHS where someone was selling HLW minicars decorated with a ton of Xmas decorations on them but at $40 each (not a bad $ for the quality) I thought I could do as well, and a $30 trip to Micheal's yeilded three cars worth of decoration and I still have enough to do the engine or a caboose!

And where did you get the Santa figures? They're nice. I especially like the one holding the brass ring...does he get another ride?

[:D]Martha Stewert can eat here heart out! This year I decided to put some left over track and some of those cheepo blowout LGB cars I picked up at Marshall's LAST christmas to some use this year. Thus is born the Christmas Tree Train!

A quick trip to Micheal's Craft Store, a bottle of tacky glue and CA, and a rainy day yeild's this year's contribution to Christmas Spirit.

The track is bent to fit the 36" square base for the tree. I need to add fake snow "ballast" and the engine is a stand in for a bright and shiny LGB Porter I have to fish out of storage.

Even my wife was impressed! She immediatly started pointing out where I could have improved it, I think she's just a little jealous, me intruding into Marthaland, thats HER territory![:D]
