Hello alheim, I am interested in purchasing the lgb magnus items that you mentioned above. Please, feel free to send me an email at: bradmatheis@gmail.com to discuss this further, if they are still available. Thank you

All,

Thank you again for the valuable info so far.

I added 9 new images to the album, which shows most of the collection. If you view the images closely you can read most of the model names etc.

The album: http://imgur.com/a/MWX6s

If you view the images full-size I think you can make out most of the names. (Right click an image and select "View Image", or "Open Image in New Tab", or similar, depending on your browser.)

To anyone interested, post here or send me a PM.

Cheers, Alex.

Dick is right on. Here is a link to our club database.

There are a number of people/companies who buy lots of trains. Trainz.com, a regular advertiser, is one. Some local hobby shops by used items to resell in their shops. If someone wants to do the work of listing them, eBay is another place to sell (though prices vary widely).

Well, not a broken record to me.  Very valuable advice.  Thank you.

Hate to sound like a broken record (young folks ask your grandparents what this means) but check with your local Garden RR Club.  If they are like ours (SVGRS) this is not a new request for them.  They have several options they could use, or you could just contact one of the train buyers listed in GR magazine.  No I don't work for GR or any train buyer, but I've been through this drill many times.

Good friend's late father left behind a huge collection: Bachman, LGB, Magnus, more ...

My good friend's father passedabout 6 years ago, and he left his family with his huge collection of trains.  He was quite the enthusuast.  The photos that I am about to share hardly scratch the surface.

Most of the trains are brand-new, in their original boxes, never used.  Some makes that I see in the photos are Bachman, LGB, Magnus (Handworks).

Many appear to be from limited-edition releases, and come with certificates of authenticity, serial number cards, etc.

We are trying to get an idea of the value of these items, and we'd like to gauge interest in the collection overall.

His wife would like to see the collection go away, and we'd like to see the trains go to somebody who cares.  The collection is in New Jersey.

Any thoughts?

The full album of photos that we took last November 2014 is here: http://imgur.com/a/MWX6s
