10 points for identifying the switch! Perhaps the most photographed 3-way stub switch in all of railroading. It's located on the south end of the Rockhill Furnace yards. There was (and it still may be there) another one at the end of the line in Mt. Union.

As for the C&TS in October, suffice to say Allison and I didn't originally board the train with the scarf or earband. They were necessary purchases during the lunch stop at Osier. We left Osier and rode straight into a blizzard. Gotta love Fall in the Rockies!

Hey Ya'll,

Belive it or not, I am an expert of all things Hogwarts Express and Harry Potter, and that is definatly not the one used in the films.

The one used in the films is a Great Western Railway 4-6-0 "Hall" class locomotive. It was put as a castle class in the movie, but that is a mistake.

Those aren't the coaches either. The coaches from the movie are BR Mk1 coaches.

Even though, It is a very attractive train. I just made a friend with a new student fro England. He loves trains. And I thought I was the expert on Briti***rains in the US. Go Figure.

I couldn't quite make out the letters on the sign of your first photo. But judging form the stub turnout I'd guess that it was taken somewhere on the East Broadtop RR.

Cumbres and Toltec in October? pretty daring. We were there in late May a few years back and had just missed a major snowstorm the week before.

How are you enjoying retirement? Does it beat doctoring?

On that issue, yesterday I was at a gig and part of my routine is slapstick dancing. Well, yesterday I took a real fall!!! Even though I rolled it into the routine, I expected to be somewhat sore today...yet I feel fine. Does that mean I'm in the clear or should expect pain tomorrow?

Well, back to trains...that Hogwarts train is awesome!! It is the original is it not? Is it on a rail spur or on permanent display (can't really tell from the image)?

Let me tell you, we have found some ELTs in some strange places, among which are in dumpsters, strange trailerhouses and one time we chased one all over South Texas in the back of some bloke's car.

We have had our share of actual crashes, including a grizzly helicopter crash in the Rio Grande Valley; a very sad way to earn a "Rescue Find" metal. I have been very affected by it...

All in allm I enjoy CAP, but I have had to retreat from via since the nearest unit is in Corpus Christi. Thus I am the PAO, writing stories on what happens for the papers.

It is a Civil Air Patrol, U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Uniform. I'm still a member, albiet my role is as a public affairs officer for the CAP unit in Corpus Christi, Texas. Essentially it is an Air Force Uniform with grey epaulets.
