G scale school bus
Posted by pirate lynn on Saturday, August 1, 2015 12:47 PM

Hey guys--Am looking for G scale school bus (plastic or metal, doesn't matter) for my outdoor layout.  Retired two years ago as a HS teacher and have been searching but to no avail so if anyone knows a vehicle, would appreciate the 411.  As always, many thanks!

Lynn

That's going to be a tough one. Especially if you are looking for any kind of accruracy. If close is good, then have a look at the toy car/truck section in the toy dept at Walmart. Scales range very loosely around 1:18 ~ 1:32.

Try this Company  http://www.rmrmodels.com/index.html-   1/25 scale Resin kits

This Thread from  2008 has two photos of completed model  http://cs.scaleautomag.com/sca/general_discussion/f/3/t/74831.aspx?sort=DESC

" They have 9 different fronts which are from the 40's and 50's, all attached to the same rear. All have interior seating and chassis. It's up to you to provide a dash, driver's seat and engine."

It was made from one of the bus kits listed in his Products. Kit price $85.00

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

If you want a small bus, Mira/Solido has one of a 1950 Suburban That is not in production but still found frequently on auction sites like eBay. I found mine on eBay.School Bus

EBay you can search "1/24 resin bus" there are resin body shells but you'll also need a pickup truck kit for the hood and chassis. It's going to require a bit of kitbashing but it can be done.
