Will this snowplow actually blow snow? Or is the rotating blade just for show?
I do not suffer from insanity...I enjoy every minute of it!!! Over 60 and still playing with toys!
Go to youtube.com and put "garden trains in the snow" in the search bar and it'll show you all kinds of snowplows.
I don't know that product specifically, but if the motor spins it at a scale speed, it won't throw snow at all and if it is plastic, it will wear away from the abrasiveness of ice.
A rotary snow plow relies on the speed of the outer edge of the blade (in feet per second) to impart velocity to the snow. A real plow spins the blade at, say 100 RPM and since it is 12 to 14 ft in diameter that translates to about 4400 feet per minute or 73 feet per second. If your model is 1:29 scale, then the blade is a little under 6 inches in diameter which at 100 RPM translates to 2.6 feet per second... not gonna throw snow very far (if at all).
Get the speed up to 2900 RPM and it might move some snow, but if the blade is plastic it will get ripped apart unless the snow is extremely soft and fluffy. And it will sound like a Police siren.
