Who makes those gondolas in February 2015 issue?

Am trying to identify who makes the shorty gondolas shown on pages 43, 44 and 61 of Harvey Young's and Don Parker's layout in the February issue.

Hello,

FYI, I've emailed both Harvey and Don and pointed them to your question.

To the best of my recollection those two-bay wood sided hopper cars were made by Bachmann.  Not sure since I got them 10 years ago.  Maybe Harvey can give you a better answer.

Definitely Bachmann's wood ore/hopper car. I can't find them listed on Bachmann's web site anymore, so I don't know if they're stil in production. I checked a few retalers to no avail, but I do see them at swap meets and train shows fairly regularly. I usually see them for around $50 give or take. There's on on ebay now (from Austria) for $95.

Later,

K

I wanted to post an update, because I'd said that I'd emailed Harvey Young with your question. Unfortunately, I learned today that he has died. His obituary is online here. My condolences to his family.
