I have seen many videos on here in the section "reader videos" and naturlly i thought, "must mean i can put a video up myself" however i have no clue on how to do that like it is done in the reader videos section, only thing i can think of doing is putting it in here where im writing, but im not sure.

Thanks for posting this. Because of your post, I've learned that the form we had for submitted a video disappeared during our website redesign! I've alerted the right people and will let you know when it's restored.

Have you folk considered sharing code between the various Trains dot com forums?  They used to be very similar, but after this present spate of changes, they all seem to be disjointed variations on a poor initial design.

http://cs.trains.com/trn/f/111.aspx

seems to be the most "improved" over the others as far as usability.

And just to throw the South-paw wrench of the Monkey into the fray...

My "favorites" link to the Garden Railways forum now takes me to the "Recent Activity" page.

BUT... That "THANKFULLY" still has a link to the OLD log-in page where there is a link to yet another page that still allows me to use my “Finger Print Reader” software to fill in the UserID and Password fields when I swipe my finger over the reader to log-in to ALL the Trains dot com forums (log into one and I am logged into all).

BUT... that page does not have the fields for User ID and Password to fill in, yet it does have a button to yet another page that does have those fields and I can swipe my finger over the reader and the software fills in the fields for me!  Hooray!

BUT... I then have to click the Log-in button and wait for the page to update (if it fails to update which happens about 10% of the time, I have to start all over with my Favorites link)...

THEN I can click the "Return to the previous page" link at the top…

BUT that takes me to the "Model Railroader" magazine main page! And on that page the links at the top to "Trains dot com" are disabled.

So I again have to use my "Favorites" link to the "Garden Railways forum".

BUT... then I get yet another WRONG page!  But, at least, there is a working link to the Garden Railways forum there and I can get to the list of topics.

I realize that, because I have brought this to your attention, you WILL BREAK my final workaround to the loss of being able to use my Finger Print Reader to log-in using any of the other Trains dot com forums and I will have to remember what my password was and type it in manually from then on, but this present situation of such rigmarole to log-in has reached near untenable proportions.

That poor Finger Print Reader software is slowly being reduced to uselessness by the latest spate of ‘innovation’ on the web with nearly ALL the sites I visit choosing to “improve” (HA HA HA HA HA!) the user experience (read that as “screw things up”) by updating the Log-In method.

If Trains dot com PAID for this web software, I think you should demand a refund.
