I am leaving G Scale
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, November 7, 2004 4:07 PM
To my heart felt breaking I will be leaving GScale and any trains. But they still will live on inside me like they have.
It was not you great people here at this board it was my mom on my [censored] asking "how many trains do you need?" to this my answer is "how many eras was there?"
So, Nov 8, 2004 I will start to place everything up on eBay. Seller ID icu_ink.

I have enjoyed my talking to each and every one of you! Keep up your great work guys/gals!

William
I understand. there was a day i had a big yard sell . getting rid of most of my HO. Then later marriage ,then kids ,then house. now heaven again. lives a big circle best of ALL worlds. And yes my wonderful wife ask, How many trains do you ,,,"need". You see ,,,when we get married we basically take on a younger ,,,,"mom".hehehehehehe

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

Long live Outdoor Model Railroading.

William dont get too down, I've been in and out of this hobby 4 times, dumped my old lionel at 18, got into and then out of N by 25, then into HOn30 after that at 35, and just had to stop for lack of space, got into G at 39, now 42 and I finally have a place to continue, albiet small, but its enough for me. Just give it some time till your ready.

   Have fun with your trains

Hi William,
The fact you won't have any trains doesn't mean you can't look in once in a while, or even all the time. Actually having trains is not a prerequisite of this forum.
Cheers mate,
Kim

Bluebonnet, that's a heartbreak, all right. You have my total sympathy. But nothing is forever, not even being without trains. Your turn will come again; you'll have trains again one day.

William,
Sorry family is causing such a pain [:(] Been there, done that. Best to pack up the trains and store them for a later day [;)] It may sound bad, but it is true that family doesn't live forever. I didn't mean any harm to that, but you shouldn't let others tell you what to do. Family can be such a pain. I rellearned that though my divorce and still do today. BUT I don't let my family control me either. I know it's harder for you in your living situation, but you need to stand up fo yourself too. I could never live with my family, they'd drive me nuts and they still would if I let them. I'll need to call you on this today. Store the trains for now and dig them out later [;)]

William,

Even if you do have to give up the trains (only you know why that is necessary) you can still participate in this forum and continue to "dream" about the hobby. Hopefully you'll be able to return soon and pick up where you left off.

Good luck to you and keep in touch with us.

Thank you for the support from all of you.
I have been called and I have called others and found it is not so, so bad.
Just like many of you said pick up where I left off. (Can do)

Now I might even go to the guy at Countryside Water Gardens and see if he wants a guy to build them like he was asking me if I did. Well now I do!
texaslilies.com Hi name is John Howell and seemed a real nice guy.

If your thinking about me selling, yes there on eBay.

You should keep an engine and caboose with your personal roadname and moniker. That way you could visit other layouts and run your loco via "trackage rights" on other rail lines.

Wha'cha say 'bout that?

Really no were to go....

I have really thought about that!
Thing is it would only be G Scale so people like Matt, Vic, Rocky, Troy, Capt, Bman, Sandy and all the others would have to support my "Shop" [:D]

Did I say MSRP?......naw, I will get my hair cut and have low over head [^]

I wanted to get into model trains back in the sixties when my kids were young but i couldn't think to afford it. I worked too hard and long during that decade because of lack of money i can hardly remeber them at all. Many things happened in the sixties that i din't know anything about because i was out working as technician of a daytime and a photographer in a lounge of a night time.

However if you really want to do it there is time in everyones life for most things.

I wanted to own a yacht as well and sail all over the Pacific, well I had yacht and the knowledge but not the time, all through the ninteties and most of the naughties but I din't have the time iwas again working hard. But now I have the time i do not have the physical capabilities any more but I have sailed around a lot; up and down the east coast of Australia for twenty years, so i guess it isn't all that bad.

Sorry mate, regards Ian

IAN, I'm there now with the work schedule, having time to do any of my hobbies or just plain free time is a rarity.

Hobby and work I have found out need to be balanced.
So, I told the Dr if I had your money I would be balanced!
