There is an Alps yahoo group you can go to for help as well. Last I was there, you don't have to be a member to read the posts, just to ask questions. There's another model, the MD1300--which is the "photo quality" version of the MD1000.

If you've got some extra cash lying around, Kodak sells a digital proof printer that is a glorified Alps printer--and uses the same cartridges. I'd rather use my Alps, and spend the rest on trains.

Yes I was/going to make decals on it.
I just wanted to check before I bought!

Most folks like the MD5000. I've got a MD1000 that works just beautifully. I use it only for decals, though, so to prolong its life. I'm still running through a serial PCI card using os9.2. If/when I start using osX, I'll have to find a USB converter for it--which they made at one time. (That, or get an osX compatible driver for my PCI card.)

Does any one know which Alps printer to buy, like the model number and stuff?

Thanks
