I can answer if you still need to know

I am preparing to use the MSP-EXP430G2 Launch Pad to program the M430G2553 MCUs required to build the throttle and decoder.
The Launch Pad version I have is Rev. 1.5. The Launch Pad shown in figure 1, page 30 of Garden Railways June 2014 issue, is a Rev. 1.3.
The user guide, SLAU318E–July 2010–Revised March 2014, downloaded from the TI website states that the jumper positions for J3 are in different locations for board Rev. 1.5.
My several questions follow in bold text:
Header Jumpers: Which pins on the Launch Pad are to be jumpered?
My board, as received, has jumpers in the following positions.
Header: J3
Header: J5
The Launch Pad Rev. 1.3,shown in figure 1, as explained above, shows jumpers in the following positions:
Crystal Installation: There is a crystal included with Launch Pad.
Does the crystal need soldered to the Launch Pad or not?
If so, where?
Software Installation: I downloaded the free FET-Pro430 from the website www.elprotronic.com as instructed. the TI user manual mentions other software.
Is the FET-Pro430 software the only software I need to download and install?
When installing the FET-Pro430 software, I was asked to select driver installation along with the software.
Was I supposed to install the driver software also?
I plan to use this Wireless DCC system this coming weekend, November 8-9, 2014, to promote Battery Powered Remote Control at a large train show.
I have other BPRC systems to demo and would like to include this system.
If anyone can provide accurate answers to the above question, your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
LGV
