LGB Price Guide ?

Does anyone publish a price guide for LGB and Pola buildings ?  I've been asked to sell-off a collection at the TCA October York Meet.

ooh thats not an easy nut to crack, the only published guide I know of was the Greenburgs Guide to LGB

The problem is its WAY out of date, last being published in the late 1990's. Best I can suggest is search Ebay auctions using the 'watch' function for what stuff is selling for, DO NOT BASE YOUR PRICES ON "BUY IT NOW" PRICES, 90% of those asking prices are loony overpriced and will guarantee you WONT sell anything. Example I came across an arguably "collectible" LGB set, which I sold on Ebay, now if I had based my price on the greedy BIN nut-heads I should have asked for over $1K for it, and I'd still be sitting on it all these months later, as it was an "expert" told me it was worth $600, I asked for $500, under the expert and 1/2 of what the BIN greed-meisters here hawking, it eventually did sell for the $500 asking but with only ONE bidder and that took THREE times on the auction merry-go-round before it sold. The large scale market has been in a depression since '08, so keep that in mind.

Perceived value of what someone THINKS its worth versus the real world salable value someone is willing to actually PAY, are two completely different things.

Hopefully someone who's better experienced with LGB collections will be able to chime in here.

Vic is right. What we suggest is to look at *completed* eBay auctions to get an idea of what things are selling for. Even that can be hit or miss, especially if an item didn't sell.

You might be better off at the ECLSTS as there is a lot of G dealers and it is open to the public.
