I am an HO scale modeler living in northern Michigan. I have a customer with a Lionel G gauge Christmas set that has a problem. There is no hobby shop or place here to take it for service so I offered to try. The train does not respond to commands from the remote control. My immediate thought was to apply power to the motor to determine if it the problem is in the control circuit or the drive train. Any trouble shooting procedures appreciated. The remote does have new batteries. Thank you
