easy enough in AutoCAD to scale stuff...aim for 1:32 or 1:29 for standard gauge, choose another common scale for narrow gauge so your engine plays well with others. otherwise use the track gauge (5") scale to the new track gauge (1/3/4") equals 35%
Same scale works if you are copying paper drawings.
Now that being said, you may have to be creative as some items will not scale when you are building a working model

I have some 5" Gauge (I live in Australia) Live Steam locos that my father drew and later transferred to AutoCAD that I would like to convert to Gauge 1 (1 3/4") and I was wondering how hard/easy it would be to do in AutoCAD.
